NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 4, 1998--Daniel Gumport, a former Senior Vice President at PaineWebber, is bringing 20 years of experience in the design and delivery of business application solutions to AGENCY.COM, where he will act as Director of Application Development.

As Director of Applications Development, Gumport will be responsible for the hardware, software and network development behind the Web venues created at AGENCY.COM. He will manage the relationship between AGENCY.COM and its Fortune 500 clients both for implementing new systems, and for leveraging clients' existing infrastructure to take the leap online.

As Senior Vice President, Director of Distributed Systems Management at PaineWebber, Inc. for more than five years, he managed a team of 75 people and was responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm's 4000 UNIX servers and 13,000 desktop machines. He was a key player on the internal technical group charged with developing the PaineWebber Web site. He is also a regular participant in intra-industry joint task forces such as FIX, the Fidelity Internet Exchange (comprised of Fidelity Management and Research, State Street Bank, Goldman Sachs, PaineWebber, Merrill Lynch, and Salomon Brothers), which created a standard for the exchange of financial information among Wall Street firms.
Prior to joining PaineWebber, he was a systems development consultant for Solutions and Decisions, First Boston Corp. and CitiGroup, where he focused on real-time transaction-oriented financial systems.
